Bad Boy Mowers Acquires Hustler Turf Equipment
Bad Boy Mowers has reached an agreement to acquire Hustler Turf Equipment from Stanley Black & Decker. The acquisition is a milestone in the zero-turn mowers industry as two of the category’s marquee brands move forward together.
“We have never been a company that is content to sit still,” said Peter Ballantyne, CEO of Bad Boy Mowers. “This next step represents an exciting investment in the future of our organization, and creates additional opportunities to strengthen the businesses, resources, and capabilities that support our dealer network and retail partners.”
Bad Boy and Hustler Turf Equipment will remain two separate companies and brands, with no plans to combine the two brands or change what makes either of them beloved by their respective customer base.
“Each of these brands have built a strong identity, loyal customer base, established dealer network, and unique position within the industry,” said Kevin Newingham, Vice President of Sales at Bad Boy Mowers. “We’re not changing what makes Bad Boy or Hustler meaningful in the market – our opportunity is to elevate each brand to new heights.”
The acquisition provides additional scale and resources that can strengthen areas such as manufacturing, purchasing, supply chain, engineering, product development, technology, and operational efficiencies. It also gives both organizations the opportunity to share best practices and expertise while continuing to operate independently in the marketplace. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval and other customary closing conditions.
About Bad Boy Mowers
Headquartered in Batesville, Arkansas, Bad Boy is the brand that revolutionized the zero-turn lawn mower game. Bad Boy was the first brand to market zero-turn mowers to rural landowners and homeowners (not just commercial mowers) with a simple promise: A better mower at a better price. Bad Boy became the fastest-selling mower in America, extending its engineering expertise into other categories, including Bad Boy’s line of tractors, the Bandit UTV, the E-Series of 80-volt handheld tools, and commercial-grade gas tools. Most recently, they’ve introduced powerful pressure washer models and proudly entered the light construction category. Bad Boy is known for sporty design, uncompromising power, relentless innovation and a signature attitude that is truly one-of-a-kind. This led to the brand’s slogan, “Power. Performance. Attitude.”
